IN-FORM former Vidarbha player Faiz Fazal guided Lisburn to NCU Lagan Valley Steels T20 Cup title at The Lawn, Waringstown. Lisburn bundled out Waringstown XI for 127 in 19.1 overs and hit the required runs making 129-7 with four balls to spare. Faiz once again anchored the chase and scored match-high of 58 from 45 balls hitting six fours. He added 65 important runs with skipper Neil Whitworth (19; 28b, 2x4) for the third wicket after two quick wickets had pulled them back in seamer-friendly conditions.

 

For his resolute knock, Faiz was named man of the match. Earlier, put into bat, Waringstown batters failed against a disciplined Lisburn attack. As many as seven batters scored in single digit with four of them not troubling the scorers at all. New-ball bowler Josh Manley led the attack taking 3-23 and was well supported by the trio of Ryan MacBeth, Callum Atkinson and Whitworth who picked two wickets each. Nigel Jones chipped in with a wicket.
