BCLL bus strike continues, drivers to meet officials today

The strike of the drivers and conductors of the Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) is continuing on Monday. As per the information, they were on a strike from past five days, as of Monday over a dispute related to the rates of ticket collection in the city. As per the latest developments, the bus drivers and conductors are expected to meet the officials and representatives of BCLL and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Significantly, the drivers are on a strike as the parent agency of the bus drivers, ‘Chalo App’ has proposed for decreasing the money which is given on the basis of every kilometre. Frustrated, the bus drivers have now put a break to the buses as a mark of protest. Around 150 buses running on six routes are halted amid the strike.
 
The bus numbers of the buses include 115, 113, 116, 205, 204, 208, SR8, TR1, 311 and 106. These buses run on the major routes of the city and are a source of movement for thousands of commuters from one place to another. Due to the strike, the residents of the city have to face a lot of trouble in moving from one place to other. Aggravating the situations in the weather which has posed additional hurdles on the locomotion of people. Also, this is the second strike of bus drivers of the city in recent times. Previously, in the month of June, several bus drivers staged a protest over the payment of provident fund (PF) and employees state insurance (ESI) by the operator.
