Sir,
Developments that are
constructive & systematic
take years to build the nation.
Senseless destruction, in contrast, takes just no time to
push the country back by several years, leaving all the
efforts & hard work made over
a period go down the drain.
India has been optimally utilising all the international platforms available to prevail on
the world community for
maintaining peace & tranquillity across the globe.
Especially, in this advanced
age of information, communication, and technological
revolution now that has gradually knitted the world into a
big village; happenings even
in the remotest corner of the
world can have its spillover
effect in other parts in many
ways. Bullet is certainly not
the language of peace and
war is no solution. PM
Narendra Modi at Kyiv in
Ukraine recently during discussions with his Ukrainian
counterpart while highlighting the relevance of Mahatma
Gandhi’s eternal message of
peace in building a harmonious society has also reiterated the need for practical
engagement between all
stakeholders to develop a
credible solution that will help
build broad based acceptability and restore peace and
stability. India’s clarion call
“Engage to end war” must be
viewed much beyond the
present context of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict
in a wider perspective and as
an appeal to the entire world
community as well and hence
that should be heard, respected, and also acted upon
earnestly by them for their
own larger good.“The Bridge”
(August 25) is a masterly edit
and a comprehensive analysis on the subject that also
defines well the road to peace
for a better world.
