Sir,
On the field and more particularly at the crease, Shikhar Dhawan
in action has always been an absolute delight to watch. Getting
on top of the opponents to tear the bowling apart; the “Gabbar”
of Indian cricket as Shikhar Dhawan is fondly called in the cricket fraternity remains a gutsy cricketer.
His perfect batting stance, easy looking comfortable posture,
range of strokes, and his ability to hit the ball powerfully and the
ball racing towards the boundary line beating even those men
guarding the outfield are just amazing and a sign of supreme self
confidence.
This veteran cricketer has now announced his retirement from
all forms of cricket. It would be worthwhile to make a mention
here of what he spoke candidly soon after bidding good-bye to his
cricket journey.
Shikhar says that he is a content man after representing the
country for over a decade and is at peace with himself and leaving the scene with many sweet memories to cherish forever and
also looking forward to seeing a new world. Yes, it is perfectly right
that at one point of time one has to turn the page to move forward
in life. That is the hallmark of greatness. If cricket is game of gentleman; Shikhar has lived by it with an example.
He may have retired now but his legacy lives on.Wishing a Happy
Retirement Shikhar. The country is proud of you.
