Burden of Expectations

You expect from me,
All that could be expected
How I bring food to the table
Always goes unstated.
And work like labour
Struggle for my kin
But you have little time to ask me,
How have I been?
You wish to control me,
Say yes to whatever is said
Oh how you make me restless
Every now and then.
I should nod at your will
And behave like a bin
But you have little time to ask,
How have I been?
To live up to everyone’s
expectations
Drives me insane
And then I wonder if my
helplessness
Is the root of all pain.
