In the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM Jan-Man) scheme, the Government is making efforts ‘for the rapid development of special backward tribal groups (PVTGs)’. The said is being achieved by giving direct benefits of all the beneficiary-oriented and development-oriented schemes and health programmes of the Central and State Government to these PVTG families. Arrangements are also being made for their permanent employment. By September 1, 2024, Aadhaar cards of 11.244 lakh persons of the targeted population, caste certificates of 09,86,724 persons, Ayushman Bharat cards of 06,71,032 persons have been prepared and Jan-Dhan bank accounts of 05,46,288 persons have also been opened. Apart from this, Kisan Credit Cards of 66,805 farmers have also been made by giving the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi incentive amount to 88,672 farmers of the targeted population /group. About 11 lakh 42 thousand 719 population of special backward tribes (Baiga, Bharia and Saharia) resides in the State. Along with making Aadhar cards, ration cards, Ayushman Bharat cards, Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) for all in this population, Jan-Dhan bank accounts are also being opened for everyone.
 
Apart from making caste certificates for all of them, the eligible farmers of this tribal group are also being given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Under the scheme, more than 91.30 per cent achievement has been achieved so far against the target set for providing benefits of all types of beneficiary-oriented schemes for PVTG. Similarly, Rs 75 crore was sanctioned by the Government of India for the construction of 125 multipurpose centers in PVTG dominated areas. Out of this, Rs 25 crore 98 lakh 75 thousand have also been allocated. Tenders have also been issued for the construction of these multipurpose centres.
 
Under the housing scheme, 1 lakh 7 thousand 802 beneficiaries have been sanctioned pucca houses. Out of these, housing construction amount has been transferred to the accounts of 87 thousand 516 beneficiaries. So far 17 thousand 593 houses have been completed. Pucca roads are also being constructed in special backward tribal dominated settlements. In the first phase, 125 roads of 294 km length have been sanctioned in 146 settlements. In the second phase, 180.29 km in 51 settlements. Approval for 40 roads of 180.29 km length has been received from the Government of India. Recently, the rural welfare ministry of the Government of India gave the approval for 60 roads in the State measuring 152.44 kilometres worth Rs 113.25 crore. As per information, the ministry has given approval to 10 roads in Anuppur, 8 in Chhindwara, 7 in Shivpuri, 6 each roads in Umaria and Vidisha, 5 each roads in Sidhi ad Ashok Nagar and 4 each Balaghat and Guna. Single roads have been approved in Gwalior, Kanti, Jabalpur, Morena and Sheopur. It is noteworthy that under PM Jan-Man, the entire population of Baiga, Bharia and Saharia special backward tribal groups residing in 24 identified districts of Madhya Pradesh is being connected to the new path of development by providing various types of assistance and employment-oriented skill training. PM Jan-Man is a mega campaign focused on providing doorstep benefits of 11 identified infrastructure and development activities of 9 ministries of the Government of India and 7 beneficiary-oriented schemes. Under this, concrete efforts are being made to connect them to the mainstream of development by spending about Rs 7,300 crore in Madhya Pradesh and taking effective steps for the overall welfare of 3 special backward tribes.
