Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Srikrishna Nagar branch cagers fought brilliantly to beat formidable Saraswati Vidyalya and emerge Under-14 champions of the inter-school basketball tournament organised by District Sports Office.

 

The matches were held at Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana ground. In the exciting final, BVM girls, despite failing to score in the last quarter, managed to pip Saraswati 14-12 and emerge district champions. Riddhima Parihar was the top scorer for BVM with eight points while Pankhudi Bade added six more in her team’s kitty. For Saraswati Vidyalaya, Sejal Mishra did her best scoring six points. BVM took the first quarters 4-2 and then managed to win the second narrowly (6-5). In the third quarter, they maintained the lead taking it 4-2. In the last quarter, Saraswati managed to take three points against BVM’s none but still fell short by two points. Earlier in the semi-final, BVM defeated Mount Carmel 16-4 while Saraswati Vidyalaya thrashed BVM, Trimurti Nagar branch 12-2.
