INCUMBENT President Kundatai Vijaykar and Secretary Mangesh Kashikar were elected unopposed and retained their places in Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA).
NDBA Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday at the Chitnavis Centre, with a significant turnout of members. The meeting was followed by the much-anticipated elections, which were conducted smoothly.
Most of the existing council members were retained and elected unopposed, reflecting confidence of the members in their leadership.
Elections were contested for two positions — Joint Secretary and Executive Members.
In the election for Joint Secretary, Bhavana Agrey emerged victorious by a considerable margin, securing 40 votes. Chetak Khedikar managed 14 votes, with 2 votes being declared invalid.
The elections for Executive Members saw a close contest. The following candidates were successfully elected: Gurdeep Singh Arora with 46 votes, Nikhil Rokde with 43 votes, Ashwin Harkare with 41 votes and Neha Gosavi with 39 votes.
Khedikar, who also contested for an Executive Member post, received 15 votes, while 2 votes were deemed invalid.
The Nagpur District Badminton Association looks forward to another productive term under the leadership of the newly elected team, aiming to further the growth and promotion of badminton in the district.
The newly elected Executive Committee (EC) for 2024 is as follows:
President: Kundatai Vijaykar. Senior Vice-President: Anand Sancheti. Vice-Presidents: Shriram Purohit, Amit Bajaj. Secretary: Mangesh Kashikar. Joint Secretary: Bhavana Agrey, Treasurer: Anant Apte. Executive Members: Gurdeep Singh Arora, Nikhil Rokde, Ashwin Harkare, Neha Gosavi.
