CHESS prodigy Nagpur’s Vishwaja Deshmukh triumphed in the H2e Power Systems Maharashtra State Under-9 Girls Chess Championship that concluded at Solapur.
She finished atop with an impressive score of 7 points from eight games competing against 70 participants from across the state. Starting the tournament as 6th seed, Vishwaja demonstrated exceptional skill and composure throughout her matches. A key moment in her journey came when she faced the top seed Tvesha Jain.
Vishwaja capitalised on a blunder by Tvesha to secure a pivotal victory.
In the must-win final round, Vishwaja displaying remarkable determination getting better of Thane’s Uttara Karthik.
She is being coached by Gurpreet Singh Maras and Siddhant Gaikwad.
