The Electricity Department publicised the names of the defaulters for not paying their due electricity amount exceeding Rs one lakh

Giving a halt to all the brouhaha over the names of the electricity defaulters, the Electricity Department has now made the names, addresses and outstanding amount of the electricity consumers, who are not paying their outstanding electricity bills on time, public. The list comprises the names of the defaulters from city circle Bhopal with arrears above one lakh. Shockingly, the list contains the names of top Government officials who fail to pay their due amount. Such negligence from the Government officials leaves a remark on the denizens that those sitting in power fail to discharge their responsibilities efficiently. Tall claims made by the police officials over fulfilling of their duties seems lacking a reality check with Superintended of Police Headquarters topping the list of the defaulters who are not paying their outstanding electricity bills.

The list published by the MKVVC claims that SP Headquarters of city’s South Division at Nehru Nagar Police line is having arrears of Rs 20,38,149. Furthermore, those sitting in power with charge of making the city ‘smart’, do not pay heed towards due electricity amount in their court. The Executive Engineer of the rattling smart city at city’s North Division at EE VIP Road Near Raja Bhoj Statue, Smart City clinches the second position in the defaulters list with an outstanding amount of Rs 8,51,017. Yet another Executive Engineer of Sewage of the same division at Nagar Nigam Pump fails to pay the due amount that is exceeding Rs 6 lakh. According to the information, the MKVVC is struggling to get an amount of Rs 06,98,063 from the Executive Engineer.

With an outstanding amount of Rs 05,70,746, the Controller of building of Vidhan Sabha CPA MLA Rest house 1,2,3 of south zone hangs in the list at fourth position. The district organiser of Bhopal’s south zone at Tribal Welfare Kamla Nehru, Harijan Blika, Chhatravas has a debt of Rs 5,37,386. Lo and behold, it seems that the Electricity Department at east zone of the city while spreading awareness among the masses to pay the due amount fails to pay attention towards its own outstanding electricity bills. The CMD of Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshtriya Vidyut Vitran Company Limited at Nishta Parisar, Govindpura has an outstanding amount of Rs 04,42,106.
