In a significant step towards environmental conservation and urban beautification, Bhopal has unveiled the country’s first greenery-based bus stop. The grand inauguration ceremony was led by Mayor Malti Rai at Retghat Chauraha, near Kudsia Park. This innovative project, developed by Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL), is designed to enhance green spaces in the city while providing a unique and eco-friendly public transportation facility. The bus stop is constructed with a steel framework and adorned with lush greenery, promoting an environmentally sustainable approach to infrastructure, Urban Green Expansion: The initiative aims to increase the green cover in the city, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment, Aesthetic Lighting: Equipped with attractive lighting arrangements, the bus stop remains visually appealing even at night, Model for Other Cities: As India’s first of its kind, this greenery bus stop sets an example for other urban centers to follow in their efforts toward sustainable development.
 
The launch event witnessed the presence of several notable officials, including Mayor-in-Council members Rajesh Hingorani, Manoj Rathore, R.K. Singh Baghel, and Jagdish Yadav. Additionally, Zone Presidents Vinita Soni and Pooja Sharma, along with officials from the Municipal Corporation and BCLL, were also present. Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Malti Rai emphasized the importance of eco-friendly infrastructure in urban planning. “This green bus stop is an exemplary step towards sustainable public transport. Not only will it provide comfort to commuters, but it will also add to the beauty of our city,” she said. She further highlighted that the Bhopal Municipal Corporation and BCLL are actively working on developing more such green bus stops in the future to make the city cleaner, greener, and more modern.
