A tragic accident occurred at a construction site of NCL, Amlori project near Mahuwa Mode Navanagar, where an under-construction drainage wall collapsed, burying two laborers under the debris, on Tuesday evening. Among the two trapped workers, one died and one was rescued safely. This mishap took place at the construction site where drain was being built as part of the Amlori Project. The accident happened when two laborers working at the site got trapped under the collapsing soil wall. Authorities rushed to the scene and launched an extensive rescue operation using a JCB machine to remove the debris.

The rescue team worked tirelessly for approximately five hours. One of the workers, 21-year-old Ramkesh was successfully rescued, while the other, 25-year-old Rohit Bais, tragically lost his life. He was pulled out of the rubble at around 10:30 PM, but by then, he had succumbed to his injuries. Both laborers were immediately taken to the district hospital. Singrauli District Collector Chandra Shekhar Shukla and Superintendent of Police Manish Khatri visited the site to oversee the rescue efforts. They assured the victims’ families of support and directed officials to investigate the cause of the collapse. Local residents and witnesses allege that the collapse was a result of substandard construction practices and negligence on the part of contractors.
