National Science Day was celebrated at different academic institutions on the theme given by the Department of Science and Technology 'Empowering Indian youth for global leadership in science and innovation for developed India'. The two-day National Science Day 2025 was inaugurated at Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College under the joint aegis of National Council for Science and Technology Communication (NCSTC), DST New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST) Bhopal, on Friday. This year's theme of National Science Day is based on the theme ‘Empowering Indian youth for global leadership in science and innovation for a developed India.’ Former Vice-Chancellor, Vikram University and currently Visitor Nominee, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, Professor Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Principal Dr RS Chandok and HoD, Biology, Shikha Parashar were present on the stage.
 
Dr Nilesh Ugemuge, IQAC Convenor, Anand Niketan Mahavidyalaya, Warora was present as keynote speaker through virtual mode. After inauguration and welcome ceremony, Principal, Dr Chandok said that National Science Day was first celebrated on February 28, 1987, which was proposed by the National Council of Science Technology and Communication. Professor Akhilesh Pandey said that during last few years, India has made remarkable progress in global science and technology on the basis of its ancient knowledge and Vedic tradition. Today India is at 39th position in innovation indicators and 6th in intellectual property filing. Keynote speaker Dr Ugemuge stated that empowering Indian youth in science is very important for nation building. During second phase, Rangoli, Quiz, Essay and Poster competitions were organised. Dr Sandhya Koshta, Dr Ambika Tiwari, Dr Adeline Abraham and Dr Gurpreet Kalra played the role of judges in these competitions. Dr Harshita Shukla and Dr Saurabh Gupta were the Program Coordinator and Program Co-coordinator, respectively.
 
Rani Durgavati University: The Department of Physics and Electronics, Rani Durgavati University organised National Science Day on Friday. Under this, students from various colleges and various departments under RDU participated in the science quiz, poster presentation and model etc. programmes. During second phase, Senior Lecturer Professor Puneet Tandon from Mechanical Department, PDPM IIITDMJ, while delivering a lecture on ‘Technology and Innovation for Developed India', mentioned innovations and inventions the motivating elements of developed India. Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, Professor Rajesh Kumar Verma linked science and innovation in today's context and encouraged the students to move forward in the field of science. Convener Professor PK Khare also addressed the students.
 
Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE): The Science Day programme was organised under the direction of Principal Sahdev Singh Meravi in coordination with National Science Day Program Coordinator Dr Pramod Srivastava. Patron of Vigyan Bharti, Professor Dr Sunita Sharma from Science College was the chief guest on this occasion while Dr Kamal Kushwaha, Professor, Applied Physics Department, Government Engineering College was the special guest. During first day of the two-day programme, the candidates participated in the science based drama and role play, live science show demonstration, become a scientist in a day and science based games and activities were demonstrated. A science magazine ‘Vigyan: Vigyan Soch Se Srujan Tak’ edited by Dr Pramod Shrivastava, was released. The main attraction of the science based activity 'Become a Scientist in a Day' was the simple experiments of science, the principles of which were explained and it was explained that through such small experiments, the teachers and through them the children can also be in the role of scientists in a day. Dr Sunita Sharma talked about giving a new direction to science and innovation and described today's program of National Science Day of the Institute of Advanced Educational Studies as a wonderful and innovative program. Dr Kushwaha gave a remarkable inspiration towards science by bringing science in a magical and attractive form by doing experiments and explained the laws and principles of physics like force, angular momentum, wave and reflection by connecting them to everyday life. In the live demonstration, operation of robotic car, finding time and position by astrolabe, demonstration of lander and rover of Mangalyaan (paper model) was made by Manisha Chandel, Arshi Naaz Ansari, Namo Patel, Aakriti Gupta, Kritika and friends of science group.
