Bargi Dam is all set to witness a grand celebration of adventure sports, cultural performances and scenic night safaris during the upcoming Jheel Mahotsav-2025, scheduled from March 29 to April 13 at Deori Bakai village.
The festival, to be organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and Jabalpur Archaeological Tourism & Culture Council (JATCC), will feature thrilling water, land, and aerial adventure sports, including sling shot, water parasailing, and surfing. In the evenings, spectacular cultural performances will entertain visitors.
One of the festival’s biggest attractions is the night water safari, where tourists can enjoy an unforgettable experience aboard a cruise. Folk artists from Rajasthan and Maharashtra will showcase their traditional dances, while classical and light music performances by artists from Madhya Pradesh and other states will add to the festivities.
A one-hour boat ride on the cruise will feature live music performances by local bands and musicians, enhancing the scenic experience of sailing on the tranquil waters of Bargi Dam. To enhance the festival’s national appeal, renowned film producer and Beyond Studios MD Bharat Bhushan has designed the event. The festival is set to attract visitors from all over the country, offering Swiss-style luxury tents for accommodation near Narmada View in Deori Bakai. Additionally, Bollywood and South Indian film stars are expected to grace the occasion.
JATCC CEO Hemant Singh informed that the fusion of water sports and cultural programs will create a unique experience for tourists, making Jheel Mahotsav a prestigious national event. Bharat Bhushan emphasized that the event has been strategically planned to increase footfall and create an unforgettable experience for visitors.
As Deori Bakai is the last village in Mandla district, the festival site was inspected by Mandla Collector Somesh Mishra and SP Rajat Saklecha along with other officials. The administration has been directed to ensure the smooth execution of the event. JATCC CEO Hemant Singh, Tourism Manager Tarun Mishra and Beyond Studios MD Bharat Bhushan were also present during the visit.
During Jheel Mahotsav, two cruise boats will operate on Bargi Dam, offering one-hour scenic boat rides featuring live performances by local artists. Food and refreshments will also be provided on board. Additionally, a houseboat will be introduced in Bargi Dam to offer a luxurious and unique water tourism experience.
