PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah condole demise
Dr Shankarrao Tatwawadi, veteran Pracharak and former Sanyojak (Vishwa Vibhag), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), passed away on Wednesday at RSS headquarters in Mahal. He was 92. Born on March 20, 1933, in Nagpur, he dedicated his entire life to the RSS and its global outreach.
A brilliant student, Dr Tatwawadi completed his early education in Nagpur. He completed M Sc in Chemistry from Nagpur University. He then pursued his doctoral studies at Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
He completed post-doctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Kansas.
He also worked as professor in the Department of Pharmacy in BHU, where he later became the Head of the Department. He played a pivotal role in expanding Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) in USA.
After 2011, he associated himself with Vijnana Bharati as a Margadarshak. He maintained close ties with countless karyakartas and their families worldwide.
As per his wish, the body was donated to AIIMS, Nagpur on Thursday. Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghachalak, RSS visited Mahal office on Thursday and paid tribute to him.
