A long-standing gang rivalry turned into a murder in the Pandharabodi area of Ambazari Police Station on Sunday morning. A gangster, who was recently released from the jail, brutally murdered another criminal and his accomplices. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Govind Baswante (35), a resident of Pandharabodi. Ambazari Police have registered a murder case against Prashant Ingole alias Khatik (38), Roshan Ganesh Ingole, Rahul alias Chaur Suryawanshi, Gajanan Saneshwar and others. According to police, tensions had been simmering between Deepak and Prashant for the past several days.
 
The duo got into an argument in front of a liquor shop on Sunday morning. Local residents intervened and temporarily defused the situation. However, Prashant feared that Deepak might attempt to kill him. As a result, he conspired with his accomplices to eliminate Deepak. Later, Prashant and his accomplices, came to Deepak’s house, where he was standing outside. The assailants attacked Deepak with knives without warning. When Deepak collapsed on the ground in the pool of blood, the attackers fled the spot.
 
A team from Ambazari Police Station arrived at the spot and rushed Deepak to a hospital. However, doctors declared him dead. Ambazari Police have registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt for the accused. Investigations have revealed that Prashant has multiple criminal cases against him, including assault and had previously been detained under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act. Similarly, Deepak also had a criminal record and had been detained.
