Raipur/Bilaspur :
The Chhattisgarh Government has promoted distinguished IPS officer Rajnesh Singh to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), acknowledging his exceptional contributions to law enforcement.
State’s Home (Police) Department had earlier announced the promotion of eight IPS officers to the SSP rank upon completing 13 years of service. However, due to technical errors, 2012-batch IPS officer Rajnesh Singh’s name was inadvertently omitted from the initial order.
In a revised order issued on March 18, 2025, the Chhattisgarh Government officially confirmed Rajnesh Singh’s promotion to Selection Grade Pay Level-13 with a pay scale of Rs 1,23,100 - Rs 2,15,900, effective from January 1, 2025.
The official order, signed by Him Shikhar Gupta, Secretary, Home (Police) Department, Government of Chhattisgarh,
formally recognised Singh’s promotion after completing 13 years of distinguished service. Rajnesh Singh’s illustrious career has been defined by unwavering dedication and numerous achievements. He joined the State Police Service in 1997 as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and was inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2012. In recognition of his outstanding service, Singh was awarded the prestigious President’s Police Medal in 2017 — a testament to his exemplary conduct and commitment to public safety. During his tenure, Singh has held several crucial roles, including serving as Additional Superintendent of Police in Raipur, Superintendent of Police in Dhamtari, Narayanpur, and most recently in Bilaspur.
His tenure in Bastar was particularly notable, where he successfully led several high-stakes anti-Naxal operations, contributing significantly to counter-insurgency efforts in the region. While posted with the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), Singh played a pivotal role in the arrest of terrorists linked to the notorious Patna-Bodhgaya blasts. Additionally, his tenure with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) witnessed multiple high-profile crackdowns on corruption, further strengthening his reputation as a resolute and effective officer.
“Rajnesh Singh’s promotion is a well-deserved recognition of his unwavering commitment, fearless leadership, and remarkable ability to deliver results in some of the most challenging circumstances,” said a senior IPS officer of Chhattisgarh Police while speaking to The Hitavada. “His track record in combating insurgency, tackling organized crime, and ensuring public safety has set a benchmark for dedication and integrity in the force.”
