ALL-ROUND performance from Akif Faraz helped Electrical Department (G) beat Demo Shed by 22 runs in the ongoing DRM Cup Inter-Department Cricket Tournament organised by South East Central Railways Sports Association (SECRSA) at its Motibag Stadium on Wednesday. Electrical Department posted huge 117 for three in allotted 10 overs with Faraz hammering 44 runs. Hitesh Raikwar too clobbered Demo Shed bowlers scoring 45 runs. In reply, Demo Shed managed to post 95 for four wickets in 10 overs. Faraz took three wickets giving away only five runs. In another match, Workshop thrashed Electrical Department (TRD) by nine wickets. Electrical Department (TRD) were bundled out for just 41 runs in 8.4 overs by Workshop bowlers specially by Sudhir Sahu who scalped three wickets for five runs. Sumeet was only notable scorer with 13 runs.

 

In return, Workshop knocked off the runs in three overs. Chetan Gour scored highest 29 runs. In another match, Commercial Department defeated Construction by six wickets. Construction Department managed to score 86 for eight in 10 overs. Rakesh Chaudhary and Nagendra Kumar scored 38 and 35 runs respectively. For Commercial, Kundan Kumar took three wickets for seven runs. In reply, Commercial lost four wickets to cross the line in 7.2 overs. Nitin Jengthe (37) and Virendra (24) did the bulk of scoring for the winners.
