One car was heavily damaged, and eight scrap vehicles were destroyed after being set ablaze by two unidentified masked individuals during wee hours of Wednesday at B Market in Sector-10, Bhilai. Upon receiving the alert, District Fire Brigade teams quickly responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire. Bhilai Nagar police have registered the case and are investigating to apprehend those responsible for the crime. According to CCTV footage reviewed by local shopkeepers, the masked culprits arrived in a car (Maruti 800) at around 4:30 am, set fire to the parked vehicles, and fled the scene. The fire caused significant damage to a Hyundai i20, while eight other scrap vehicles, including vans, jeeps, and cars, were completely destroyed.

 

The wrecked vehicles belonged to Ejaz Automobiles, Perfect Automobiles, and CG Automobiles, all located in the B Market area of Sector-10, Bhilai. The haphazard and unchecked parking of numerous vehicles, including abandoned ones, in both A and B Markets and along the road, has long been a source of concern.
