EMBRA members stage dharna

Under the banner of UFBRO, a massive dharna was organised by Eastern Maharashtra Bank Retirees Association at Samvidhan Square, recently. At the outset, S B Butolia, General Secretary, EMBRA, outlined the purpose of the struggle was for pension updation and other demands. Other office bearers addressing the gathering included Ishwar Chelwani, Omprakash Varma, M L Pande, Chairman, President and advisor of EMBRA respectively and representatives of member Banks, Santosh Kumar Dubey, Narendra Khutate, Liladhar Barai, Surendra Trivedi, Chandra Sane, Vishranti Chourey Suresh Selulkar, Nanaware President of EMBREA Chandrapur unit.
 
All speakers gave emphasis on pension upgradation, cheaper insurance premium, direct dialogue with retirees unions for pensioners issues. Members from neighbouring districts e.g. Amravti, Akola, Chandrapur and Yavatmal marked their attendance in good number. Retirees’ organisations participating include, Central Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, UCO Bank, PNB, Bank of Baroda, Union Bank, Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Canara Bank, Yavatmal Gramin Bank. From the dharna site, the rally marched to Parvana Bhavan to celebrate 1st anniversary of EMBRA raising slogans enroute. Ramkumar Gupta, Trustee, Parvana Bhavan, was the chief guest. He spoke about contribution of late H L Parvana for bank employees movement and how pension was achieved after long struggle by employees. Tribhuvan Meshram, R R Gupta, Arun Palandurkar, Dilip Desai and others worked for success of the programme.
