RESERVE Bank of India (RBI) team comprising Pranav Lokhande and Rajkumar Kare retained the inter-bank badminton title for third year in succession.
The 57th Inter Bank Badminton Tournament was organised at R-YMCA hall. This year record 16 banks had participated in the tournament which was supervised by Chief Referee Gaurav Rege who was assisted by Prafulla Nandedkar, Tribhovan Meshram, Aditya Gokhale and Pravin Gurang.
In the final, RBI A blanked SBI B 2-0.
Pranav Lokhande defeated Ashish Ingle 21-9, 21-14 in the opening singles and then partnering Rajkumar Kare, beat Ashish Ingle and Pratik Pote 21-14, 21-18.
Earlier in the semi-finals, RBI A bt UCO A 2-0. Lokhande bt Harshad Gole 15-1, 15-2; Lokhande-Kare bt Harshad Gole and Ameya Parande 15-4, 15-6 while SBI B bt RBI B 2-0. Pote bt Hrishikesh Vaidhya 15-2, 15-7; Pote and Ingle bt Vaidhya and Kartik Raja 15-11, 15-12.
