Actor Sonu Sood’s wife, Sonali Sood and his two relatives, were injured in a car accident in the city, on Monday night. The injured include Sonali’s sister, Sunita and her nephew, Siddharth. While the Sonegaon Police have made an entry in the police station diary based on the Medico-Legal Case (MLC) information received from the hospital, a case has not been registered due to the absence of a complainant. Officials from the Sonegaon Police Station said that the accident occurred on Monday at around 10 pm when their car collided with a truck from behind on the fly-over near Sonegaon Police Station, while they were travelling from the airport to Byramji Town.

 

The three injured are stable now and both Sonali and Sunita are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Mankapur area. Sunita and Siddharth are residents of Byramji Town. According to the police, Sonali arrived in Nagpur from Kolkata on Monday night, and Sunita and Siddharth picked her up from the airport. The three were travelling to Byramji Town in a car (MH-31/GA-1789), driven by Siddharth. As the car was climbing the flyover, they began following another car, which was behind a slow-moving truck. When the car in front suddenly overtook the truck, Siddharth was unable to control the car as the slow-moving truck appeared in front of him. He collided with the truck from behind. The front bonnet of the car was severely damaged in the accident. Fortunately, the three had a narrow escape as the airbags deployed immediately. However, they sustained minor injuries in the accident and were rushed to the hospital that night. Sonegaon Police reached the scene but did not find anyone in the car and they seized it. As of now, no case has been registered in connection with the accident.
