Commissioner Rail Safety (CRS), Central Railway, will conduct inspection of 18 km section of 3rd and 4th line between Seloo-Sindi Railway Station of Nagpur Division on March 27 and 28. The construction organisation has completed the work from KM 772 to KM 790 on the Grand Trunk and Howrah-Mumbai route of Indian Railways. As is the practice, any new track undergoes minute inspection and post certification from CRS the railway section is open for commercial run of passenger trains.
During the tour, CRS will inspect all aspects related to track, its fitness, track curvature, fitting, the S&T aspects, and also the OHE infrastructure.
The Commissioner will conduct the speed trial run over two days on March 27 to assess the newly constructed rail lines for safety and operational readiness. The speed trial is a critical step in the commissioning process, ensuring that the tracks meet the required standards for safe train movement.
The completion of infrastructure enhancement aims at improving rail traffic efficiency, enhance operational capacity, and ensure smoother movement of passenger and freight trains.
The completion of these additional rail lines is expected to decongest existing tracks, reduce delays, and facilitate seamless rail operations in the region. The Nagpur Division remains committed to enhancing railway infrastructure to meet growing transportation demands efficiently.
All railway staff, passengers, and residents near the railway track are strictly advised not to cross the rail line during this period and to maintain a safe distance from the tracks. Necessary precautions will be taken by railway authorities to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the inspection.
