Five Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Bhopal have been certified under the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) for health services quality. The certification, issued by the National Health System Resource Centre, includes Ayushman Arogya Mandir Arwaliya (95.63%), Ayushman Arogya Mandir Mindhora Mindhori (93.80%), Ayushman Arogya Mandir Nalkheda (86.08%), Ayushman Arogya Mandir Lalloi (85.98%), and Ayushman Arogya Mandir Kuthar (84.04%). This certification follows the earlier NQAS accreditation of four other centers in Bhopal - Ayushman Arogya Mandir Eintkhedi, Surajpura, Khajuri Road, and Raipur - received in February.
The evaluation of these institutions took place in March, where records were thoroughly checked, and the services provided to patients were assessed. Feedback was taken from Community Health Officers, ANMs, and ASHA workers, and interviews were conducted to assess their capacity.
The evaluation under NQAS covers eight key areas: service provision, patient rights, inputs, support services, clinical care, infection control, quality management, and outcomes. A checklist of seven service packages was established for the evaluation of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, covering pregnancy and child health care, child and adolescent health services, family welfare services, treatment and management of non-communicable and communicable diseases, newborn care, outreach activities, and all national health programmes.
Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, congratulated the health institutions on receiving the quality certification. He emphasised that this accreditation motivates them to work more efficiently, and providing services to beneficiaries according to quality standards remains the Government’s priority.
