Maximum squares will be treated as ‘no-man’s land’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Nagpur to perform bhoomipujan of the Premium Centre of Madhav Netralaya on Sunday. Bharatiya Janata Party Nagpur unit is preparing to welcome its leader. Since security team has marked many squares enroute as “no-man’s lands”, the party workers won’t be able to greet him at all squares which the party had planned earlier. This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the city after becoming Prime Minister for the third time. Sandip Joshi, the in-charge of reception committee and newly-elected Member of Legislative Council told ‘The Hitavada’, “Modiji is our beloved leader and every worker is very eager to welcome him.

Earlier, we had planned to greet him at 47 squares. Now, around 19 squares have been marked as “no-man’s land” because of which, we can only greet him at 28 squares. There is a slight change in his route as well.” As per earlier plan, he was expected to take a different route to reach Reshimbag Smruti Mandir and Deekshabhoomi. Now, Modi will have same route during the to-and-fro journey. The visit of Modi has several dimensions. He became Prime Minister in 2014 and for the first time, he will be visiting Smruti Mandir of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). This is centenary year of RSS. Against that backdrop, his visit assumes importance.

Modi also will visit Deekshabhoomi and pay respects to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Meanwhile, BJP is decorating the city by displaying the posters of Modi. The roads are cleaned and the flowers are being watered for which the help of Fire Department is sought. “Police planned to deploy less policemen at the squares because of which most squares have been marked as ‘no-man’s land’. We too have made a slight change in our reception plan.

We need to adhere to the security protocol so we have asked our workers to greet Modiji in a peaceful manner,” said Joshi. His visit has several important aspects. He is coming for the bhoomipujan of Premium Centre of Madhav Netralaya and he will also be visiting Reshimbag Smruti Mandir of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Deekshabhoomi. Modiji will reach Nagpur at 8.30 am and after completing his visits to Smruti Mandir and Deekshabhoomi, he will reach Madhav Netralaya at around 10 am. He will depart from Madhav Netralaya at 11.30 for Solar Industries. He will be back at the airport at 1.30 pm and depart for Delhi.
