Bhilai’s Khursipar sees surge in jaundice cases

Jaundice outbreak continues in Ward 42 Gautam Nagar of Khursipar Bhilai as 7 more patients have been detected on Wednesday. According to the information received from Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Manoj Dani, on Wednesday 30 patients of possible jaundice were found, out of which 13 samples were taken and after test 7 patients were detected of suffering from jaundice. CMHO Dr Manoj Dani further informed that with the help of the Bhilai Municipal Corporation, a mobile medical unit has been deployed in the affected area for testing. The district administration and health department appeal to the general public that if any jaundice related symptoms such as vomiting, lack of appetite, fatigue, persistent stomach pain, fever appear, they should immediately go to the nearest health center and seek medical advice.
 
It is advised to get tested for jaundice and take care of yourself and your family. At present, the situation is under control. It may be noted that after the outbreak of jaundice in Ward 42 Gautam Nagar of Khursipar Bhilai, under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Manoj Dani and under the direction of District Surveillance Officer Dr CBS Banjare, In-charge Officer Dr Piam Singh Civil Hospital Supela Bhilai and District Epidemiologist Durg Ritika Sonwani have been directed to regularly visit the affected area along with Supervisor Vijay Sejule BETO Hitendra Kosare and local workers and Mitanins. On March 2, a total of 245 houses were surveyed where a total of 21 potential jaundice patients were found, 9 were examined out of which 6 jaundice patients were found, 1 was admitted to the district hospital. On March 3, a total of 325 houses were visited, in which no potential jaundice patients were found. On March 4, 492 houses in the affected area in which 4 patients of fever were found.
