The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has launched a significant initiative to ensure the safety of women passengers. Under ‘Operation Meri Saheli,’ the RPF aims to provide safe travel to women passengers and take necessary steps to protect them from any kind of distress.
The primary objective of “Operation Meri Saheli” is to prioritize the safety of women passengers. Under this campaign, the RPF has made special security arrangements to ensure that women passengers feel confident and secure during their journey.
Additionally, the RPF has also provided information to women passengers about safety measures and awareness, so that they can receive prompt assistance in any crisis situation.
This initiative by the RPF is aimed at ensuring a safe and reliable travel experience for women on the railway network, where women passengers are provided with quick assistance in any kind of problem, violence, or emergency situation.
Under “Operation Meri Saheli,” the RPF, West Central Railway, has assisted 13,160 women passengers for safe travel in the year 2025 so far, helping them reach their destinations safely.
The RPF has focused on various aspects to ensure the safety of women passengers, which include:
Special Security Arrangements: Special security arrangements have been made for women passengers at railway stations and trains. Women RPF personnel have been deployed for women passengers at railway stations.
Awareness: Important safety information is being provided to women passengers. Under this, the RPF provides information to women passengers on safety measures, such as theft, molestation, and how to get help in an emergency.
Immediate Resolution and Assistance: Quick resolution of any kind of complaint or problem of women passengers has been ensured.
The RPF has also issued a special 24-hour helpline number 139 to resolve passengers’ complaints promptly.
The Railway Protection Force appeals to women passengers to always be vigilant for their safety and to contact the RPF immediately in any problem or crisis. Women passengers can make their journey safe and confident by making proper use of the RPF’s special helpline and safety measures.
The RPF also requests women passengers to take the following precautions during their journey:Pay attention to your belongings and personal safety during the journey, Beware of any suspicious person on the train or station, In case of any problem, immediately contact the RPF helpline 139 or the nearest police station.
