Garha police apprehend three thieves,recover stolen jewellery worth Rs 15L

IN Amajor breakthrough, Garha Police have apprehended three thieves and retrieved stolen jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh from them. The arrested have been identified as Avinash Raikwar alias Shashank (28), resident of near Chhoti Santoshi Mata Mandir in Ghamapur, Rajkumar alias Manmohan Jharia (28), resident of Bhatra Mohalla, Sharda Mandir in Barela and Mayank Barman (25), resident of Garha Purwa, near Chhota Jain Mandir in Garha while another accused Abhishek is still absconding.
 
Police have retrieved stolen jewellery include gold jewellery 7 bangles, 3 mangalsutra pendants, 1 nose ring, 1 necklace, 1 wedding band, 2 rings, 1 chain, 7 pairs of earrings weighing around 180-grams. Diamond jewellery of 1 pendant, 1 ring and silver jewellery of around 700 grams and cash of Rs 20,000. SHO of Garha police station, Prasann Kumar Sharma, while addressing a press conference, informed that a man named Anil Jain, resident of Siddh Nagar, behind Khermai Mandir, Garha, lodged a complaint that he and his family went at Dhanora village in Damoh on February 25, 2025. They returned home on March 2, 2025 and found that their house ransacked and gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 17 lakh and cash missing. Investigating the case, SHO, Garha, Prasann Kumar Sharma conducted surveillance and local inquiries and detained suspects
 
Avinash Raikwar, Rajkumar Jharia and Mayank Barman. During interrogation, the accused confessed the theft and revealed name of another accomplice Abhishek, who is currently absconding. On their identification, police team retrieved the stolen jewellery and cash and a search is underway for absconding thief. The thieves were apprehended with active working of police team comprised of SIs, Anil Kumar, Yogendra Singh, Ganpatlal Vanshkar, Head Constables Arun Raghuvanshi, Himlesh Baidya, Premnarayan Rajak, Constables Santosh Jat, Ashwini, Sanjay Sanodia, Sandeep Pal, Shailendra, Balamukund, Anil Yadav, Deepak Bhadauria, Prateek Daheriya and Woman Constable Medha Dubey.
