‘State Government will assist in establishing Centre of Excellence for Vedic Maths in city’

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister, announced complete assistance from the State Government for building a ‘Center of Excellence in Vedic Mathematics’ at Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar, while speaking at the releasing of books ‘Vedic Mathematics’ (Basic to Advanced) Level 1 to 3; and ‘Vedic Ganit Sutra Arithmetic’ written by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Bharti Krishna Teertha Maharaj, and compiled by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, at Jagadguru premises, Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar, Telangkhedi, on Monday.
Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Prafulla Kumar Kale, President, Shree Vishwa Punarnirman Sangh; Shailesh Jogalekar, General Secretary; Dr Shriram Chauthaiwale, shared the dais.
Devendra Fadnavis, in his address, stated that these books would disseminate the significance of Vedic Mathematics, a crucial link in ancient Indian tradition of knowledge, to everyone. Jagadguru Shankaracharya Bharati Krishna Teertha Maharaj presented Vedic Mathematics in the books through 16 Sutras and 13 Upsutras, which can be used to solve even the most complex mathematical problems in a simple manner.
He added that Bharati Krishna Teertha Maharaj, from the lineage of the great Shankaracharyas, is the first Shankaracharya to have travelled abroad and delivered lectures on Indian culture, knowledge, and science.
The Chief Minister further said, “Due to various foreign invasions of India, we were unable to preserve our glorious traditions and excellent writings. Now, through these books on Vedic Mathematics, this glorious tradition is once again coming before society.”
He added that the State Government would make efforts to ensure that students across the State benefit from this knowledge.
At the outset, Prafulla Kumar Kale, in his introductory remarks, shed a light on history of Shree Vishwa Punarnirman Sangha, and
Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar. He also announced that
the new branch of the school on Wardha Road will begin from 2026.
Dr Shriram Chauthaiwale explained the premise of the
books being published with brief history of Vedic Mathematics and contribution of the city in its
evolution.
Anita Nanda Samudre, Vice-Principal, Bharti Krishna Vidya Vihar, compered the programme while Shailesh Jogalekar proposed a vote of thanks.
‘India can lead world by revitalising knowledge in
our scriptures’
“India can lead the world by redefining and revitalising knowledge embedded in our scriptures,” said Dr Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh while speaking at the release of books.
Dr Mohan Bhagwat, in
his address, elaborated the importance of Mathematics in life and said that Mathematics was not merely a science of numbers.
Dr Bhagwat elaborated the importance of Vedic Mathematics. He said, “Vedic Mathematics is conceived keeping welfare of humankind in mind. I am happy t o see these books published in Nagpur, where the efforts began to create a society that will contribute in making India self-reliant to reconstruct the world.”
While underlining the importance of learning Vedic Mathematics, Dr Mohan
Bhagwat said, “The modern science has knowledge of physical universe, but it lacks spiritual thought. While living in information age, every individual should be knowledgeable for their independence.” He added that along with knowledge of modern sciences, the spiritual knowledge is also crucial. “The effort to understand the lost sciences of India is crucial not only for indian knowledge system but also for reconstruction of the world,” concluded Dr Mohan Bhagwat.
