Nagpur Rural Police notified diversion to ensure that the section below the busy fly-over remains free from any traffic snarls

Butibori flyover may open for vehicular traffic within a period of one month, if everything goes off smoothly. As per reports, post-long discussion and consultation with experts, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) finalised the restoration of the damaged portion of the new bridge. The work is slated to gather pace in days to come. For the same, Nagpur Rural Police have again notified diversion of vehicle to ensure that the section below the fly-over remains free from any traffic snarls which have become a norm every since the bridge suffered a major damage allegedly due to passing of a over loaded vehicle.

As per police sources, the NHAI officials have tentatively sought one month time to complete the reconstruction of the damaged portion of the bridge. About five months back, a pillar cap on the flyover, on Butibori-Wardha direction, suffered a crack that led to stopping of traffic movement. The damage led to slanting of the viaduct on a small portion and fearing further cracking, the NHAI authorities closed down the flyover. Ever since the incident, traffic snarls have become a norm as the Butibori junction is common to movement from Wardha and Chandrapur side and hence during peak time commotion is common.

Now ass per reports the bridge repair work is in the final stage. Until then in order to avoid inconvenience, accidents, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nagpur Rural, Ramesh Dhumal, has notified diversion for vehicles entering Nagpur through Wardha and Chandrapur. Vehicles travelling from Wardha towards Nagpur shall take the route: Wardha Road-ACC Square Underpass/ Service Road left side-Fire Brigade Station-Indo Rama Company and then take–the right turn towards Salai Dhaba and proceed onto Samruddhi Expressway and then move on to Nagpur. Same route should also be used by vehicles entering from Chandrapur towards Nagpur shall take the route: via turn left from Y Point towards and then the same route ahead towards Samruddhi Maha Marg.
