Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the high-level meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Kushabhau Thackeray State BJP Headquarters in Raipur. The meeting took place in the presence of BJP’s National Organisation General Secretary Shivprakash and Chhattisgarh State In-Charge Nitin Nabin. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to good governance and zero tolerance towards corruption. “Our government is functioning on a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. Efforts are underway to deliver on the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Chhattisgarh,” the CM said. Sai cited major welfare schemes including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, procurement of paddy, and the Mahtari Vandan Yojana as examples of the government’s developmental focus. Sai emphasized that the state machinery is being mobilized to ensure last-mile delivery of benefits.

“To ensure government schemes reach the grassroots, ministers and MPs will soon conduct surprise inspections across the state,” he added. As part of the BJP’s public outreach initiative, the Chief Minister announced that party officials will go door-to-door across the state until April 11 to resolve public grievances on the ground. Reacting to the Congress’ national convention in Gujarat, Chief Minister Sai criticised the opposition party, accusing it of having lost credibility among people. “The Congress keeps holding conventions, but there is a wide gap between their words and actions. People across the country, are distancing themselves from them.

The party has lost the trust of the nation,” Sai asserted. On the issue of electoral reforms, the Chief Minister voiced strong support for the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, stating that its implementation would lead to significant savings in time and public expenditure. “Frequent elections result in prolonged enforcement of the model code of conduct, which hampers development work. The Prime Minister has rightly advocated for synchronised elections to streamline governance,” he said. Sai pointed out that a committee under former President Ramnath Kovind has already been constituted to explore the feasibility of the proposal. He noted that the state has taken a step forward by aligning Nagari Nigam and Panchayat elections, indicating a willingness to move in that direction.
