KUSHAGRA Paliwal emerged clear winner in the Nagpur District 104th Weekend Open Rapid Chess Tournament that was held at NDCA Hall, Sports Complex, Dhanwate National College, Congress Nagar. The event was hosted by Nagpur District Chess Association in association with Dhanwate National College In sixth round, Kushagra, playing with white pieces, defeated Rudra Dhole on the top board to finish the assignment with 5.5 points, half point clear of the duo of Palash Nagdevte and Sahejveer Singh Maras.
 
Palash got the better of Sunil Chelani on the third board while Sahejveer pipped Swaraj Mishra for full point in his last game. In all 34 players including 19 ELO rated players of various ages participated in this tournament. Total 6 rounds were played. Total cash prizes of Rs 5,000 were distributed among top 10 players of the tournament. The prizes were distributed at the hands of Chief Arbiter IA Pravin Pantawane, who was assisted by Diensh Kokate. Top Ten Kushagra Paliwal (5½), Palash Nagdevte (5), Sahejveer Singh Maras (5), Dilip Chepte (4½), Rudra Dhole (4), Swaraj Mishra (4), TM Kawadkar (4), Paris Kubde (4), Sumit Mahadule (4), Sunil Chelani (3½).
