Polymatech Electronics, India’s first semiconductor company headquartered in Chennai, marked a historic milestone with the bhoomipujan and foundation stone laying of its second semiconductor manufacturing unit in the country at Sector-5, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar on Friday. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai performed the bhoomipujan in the presence of Commerce and Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary, CSIDC Chairman Rajiv Agrawal, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to CM Subodh Kumar Singh, and Polymatech Electronics MD & CEO Eswara Rao Nandam among other dignitaries. CM Sai said, “Chhattisgarh is poised to embrace future-ready industries, and Polymatech’s semiconductor facility is a testament to our readiness. With robust infrastructure, skilled manpower and proactive policysupport, we are fostering an environment where advanced manufacturing thrives.

This investment will create jobs and catalyse the growth of an electronics ecosystem in the region.” He assured full support from the State Government to facilitate the project. Polymatech Electronics is investing 1,143 crore in the Nava Raipur plant, an announcement first made during the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect 2024 in New Delhi. The project is supported by a capital subsidy from the State Government, towards public-private partnership aimed at establishing Chhattisgarh as a key player in India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. In his address, Eswara Rao Nandam said, “

This facility broadens our product spectrum, enabling us to meet the rising demand for next-generation telecom and industrial semiconductor components, both in India and globally. Our GaN-based solutions position us at the forefront of 5G and 6G infrastructure development. Beyond manufacturing, we aim to drive innovation, train future talent, and build a resilient supply chain for domestic and international tech ecosystems.” Spanning 300,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art facility will specialize in high-performance components for 5G and 6G base stations. It will leverage Polymatech’s proprietary Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, known for efficiency in high-frequency, high-power applications.

The plant will also incorporate 6G base station architecture based on the Doherty design, delivering superior signal quality and reduced energy consumption. The new unit aligns with India’s vision of becoming a global semiconductor powerhouse, in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives. With the country’s semiconductor demand expected to touch $64 billion by 2026 and $110 billion by 2030, about 10% of global consumption, this facility aims to reduce import dependency and boost domestic manufacturing capabilities. Eswara Rao Nandam informed that semiconductor manufacturing operations in Nava Raipur are expected to begin next year, generating employment for over 600 individuals. Polymatech Electronics is a multinational, multi-wafer semiconductor chip manufacturer and advanced RF systems provider with a presence in India, the US and Bahrain. The company powers essential sectors including telecom, data centers, mobility, healthcare, robotics, AI, and net-zero applications, playing a crucial role in the global digital economy.
