SIDDHANT Gawai kept his slate clean to emerge clear winner in the Central Nagpur MLA Chashak Open Rapid Chess Tournament that concluded on Saturday. The event, organised by Sai Chess Academy, was held at Ramjivan Choudhari Krida Sankul, Navi Shukrawari. Gawai won all his eight rounds to bag the title. Ayush and Ramteke (7), Shourya Ayush (6.5) with half points difference, took the second and third spots respectively. As many as six players were tied at six points apiece and were separated by applying tie-break scores. In all 85 players including 44 ELO rated players of various ages participated in this tournament. Total eight rounds were played. Total cash prizes of Rs 41,200 were distributed among top 10 players.
 
Best veteran, best female and top age categories players were given trophies. The prizes were distributed at the hands of Swapnil Bansod, International Arbiter along with Keatan Thakare, Vivek Awasare, Sachin Mathane, Dinesh Deshpande, Sushant Jumde, Organiser, Sai Chess Academy. Fide Arbiter Amit Tembhurne was Chief Arbiter and was assisted by SNA Sham Agrawal. Top Ten Siddhant Gawai (8), Ayush Ramteke (7), Shourya Ambone (6.5), Chirag Lahoti (6), Anuraag Bagdi (6), Palash Nagdevte (6), Mohak Bhagchandani (6), Yugant Ramteke (6), Manas Karnase (6), Sahejveer Singh Maras (5.5).
