ABHISHEK Rai-Sunil Kamwani pair defeated Akshay Khetarpal-Jamashp Bapuna duo 112-80 to start their campaign on a winning note in the ongoing Central Provinces Club’s Late Adv MB Naidu Snicket Tournament.
Potting first, Rai-Kamwani made 39 while Khetarpal-Bapuna could manage 10 points only. In the third frame, Rai-Kamwani bettered their performance and scored 73 to pip Khetarpal-Bapuna who posted 70 points.
In another match, Ajit Chawla and Mahesh Hirani fought out hard to beat Chaitanya Jain-Vedit Chokhani 109-101.
Chawla-Hirani scored 55 in the first frame. Jain-Chokhani missed pots and managed only 52. In the third frame, Chawla-Hirani scored 54. Jain-Chokhani succumbed under pressure and managed 49 points.
In another match, Adit Chhajed-Saurabh Gupta lost to Tarun Mohta and his partner 88-161. Scoring first, Mohta and his partner scored 51 and Chhajed-Rai could manage only 37. In the third frame, Mohta and his partner scored 110 and cornered their opponents at 51 to win the game.
