The Sessions Court, on Monday, extended police custody remand (PCR) of Ulhas Narad, Deputy Director (Education) and Parag Pudke, Principal in Shalarth ID (a teacher identification number) scam. Three other accused in the same case have also been sent to police custody for a day. Along with Narad and Pudke, the police have arrested Nilesh Meshram, a Superintendent in Deputy Director’s (Education) office; Sanjay Shankarrao Dudhalkar (53), a Sub-Inspector in the Deputy Director’s (Education) office and Suraj Punjaram Naik (40), a clerk, so far. The police have also summoned Education Officer (Secondary) Rohini Kumbhar for questioning. She has been asked to provide documents related to the case and the process of issuing the Shalarth ID. The investigation into this education scam is still ongoing.
