Total seven patients were admitted at Aureus Institute of Medical Sciences, Medical Square Road, Wanjari Nagar, Nagpur, after sustaining burn injuries of recent explosion at MMIPL Industries Ltd., Umred MIDC. Out of 7 patients, 6 patients have sustained severe mixed type of thermal burn and 1 patient has sustained blunt injury to lumbar spine with right shoulder and ankle sprain. All the burn patients were brought in very critical condition to Aureus Hospital, after receiving initial treatment at GMCH, Nagpur. Inspite of giving best possible treatment, one of the patient named Karan Shende succumbed to his burn injuries and has been declared dead on April 15, 2025 at 10:15 am.

 

The patient are treated in specialised Isolation Intensive Care Burn Unit by a team of expert Intensivist leaded by Dr Anant Singh Rajput and Burn and Plastic Surgeon Dr Sameer Jahagirdar. The dedicated team of doctors including Dr Parikshit Mahajan, Dr Ashish Ganjare and Dr Vikas Gupta, critical care specialists, nurses, support staff under guidance of sister Jyoti Deshmukh and administrative team of Aureus are working tirelessly to ensure best possible results.
