Gokulpeth shootout Murder threat ignored: Avinash Bhusari killed days after warning
Staff Reporter :
In the Gokulpeth shootout case, police investigation has revealed that the deceased, Avinash Raju Bhusari (28), owner of Shosha Cafe, had received a murder threat eight days prior to the attack.
Bhusari was shot dead by members of the Hiranwar gang in Gokulpeth early Tuesday morning. A police official stated that Avinash came onto the gang’s hit list after they learned he was trying to secure bail for his cousin, Aviraj alias Avi Bhusari, who is currently in jail along with his accomplices for the murder of Pawan Hiranwar. Pawan was shot dead by the gang on January 2 this year.
The official claimed that Avinash received the threat via a phone call from a member of the Hiranwar gang. He shared this information with a friend, but they did not alert the police.
Police sources say the attackers had initially planned to kill a member or relative of the Shekhu gang.
They began searching for a target around 8 pm and continued late into the night. The gang had reportedly been gathering information on Shekhu gang members’ relatives for over a month.
The shooters visited three different locations but failed to find any targets. Eventually, they spotted Avinash Bhusari at his café. One of their associates confirmed his presence and informed the gang. The shooters waited outside the café, watching for the right moment. When Avinash came out and was eating ice cream, they attacked and shot him. Meanwhile, although the police have caught two accomplices, remaining accused are still at large.
Shooters flee to Madhya Pradesh
Police have confirmed that the shooters have escaped from Nagpur and are believed to be hiding in Madhya Pradesh. Special police teams have been formed and are actively searching for the suspects. Efforts are being made to track them down.
