With 44.7 degrees Celsius, Nagpur city became the 8th hottest place in the world on Saturday. It was also the highest temperature of the season so far.
According to El Dorado Weather, in the top ten hottest places list in the world, eight cities were from India on Saturday.
Churu city of Rajasthan was
the hottest place in the world
with 45.4 degrees Celsius, followed by Ganganagar (45.40 C), Chittorgarh (45.20 C), and Kota (45.10 C). Nagpur was eighth in the list.
Jecobabad of Pakistan and Tillabery of Niger were 5th and 7th hottest respectively.
Whereas, India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed Nagpur as the hottest place
in Maharashtra followed by Akola (44.30 C), Wardha (440 C) and Chandrapur (440 C) on Saturday.
According to IMD, “A trough from north Madhya Maharashtra to Gulf of Mannar now runs from northeast Vidarbha to Gulf of Mannar across Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu at 1.5 km above sea level.
Due to this weather condition the maximum temperature will be observed on higher side in all over Vidarbha for the next couple of days.” As per the weather department, Nagpur will witness thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) at one or two places on April 21. Wardha, Gondia and Gadchiroli will also likely witness the same weather condition on April 21. Whereas, Akola, Amravati and Chandrapur districts will witness heat wave condition on April 21 and 22. Other places of Vidarbha will remain dry and the maximum temperature will remain above normal.
On Saturday, Amravati (43.8C), Bramhapuri (43.6C), and Yavatmal (43.5C) recorded the maximum temperature above 43 degrees mark. Bhandara, Buldhana, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Washim recorded the maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius mark. Night temperature in all over Vidarbha was also on higher side on Saturday.
