Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav actively participated in the cleaning of Ramghat on the banks of the Kshipra River in Ujjain, spearheading the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan. The Chief Minister personally joined the effort to clean the ghats by entering the river. Following the clean-up, he bathed in the Kshipra River and sought blessings from Maa Kshipra.
Dr Yadav emphasized that the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan is a special initiative aimed at rejuvenating Madhya Pradesh's ancient and historical water sources. The campaign also focuses on restoring the flow of rivers. He cited the successful rejuvenation of the Betwa River's origin near Bhopal as an example.
The Chief Minister highlighted the unique significance of the Narmada River, stating that it is perhaps the only river in the world that devotees circumnavigate as part of a pilgrimage. The Madhya Pradesh government is committed to developing the Narmada Parikrama route with appropriate infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims. Similarly, the government is developing 29 kilometers of new ghats along the Kshipra River to facilitate pilgrims undertaking the Kshipra Parikrama.
He also underscored Ujjain's historical, religious, scientific, and astronomical importance.
