Many new facts have come to light during probe into the Shalarth ID scam. Cyber Police have now sent notices to 14 teachers who are suspected to be involved in the scam. The teachers will be summoned for questioning soon.
Deputy Director (Education( Ulhas Narad and Clerk Suraj Naik have been already arrested by the police for their involvement in the scam. According to the Cyber Police, some fake Shalarth IDs were created using different gadgets.
The Internet Protocol (IP) address (a digital address of each device) is the key evidence to identify the persons who were involved in the creation of bogus Shalarth IDs. As a result, the police are checking every Shalarth ID and the IP address used to create the ID to identify the digital culprits. The police are also checking the IDs, passwords, and OTPs used in the process.
A senior Police Officer said that 14 teachers have received official notices. On receiving the notices, some teachers have gone missing. Cops are now searching for them. Meanwhile, Mahendra Bhaurao Mhaiskar (44) was arrested for creating fake Shalarth IDs for teachers on Sunday. He is now in the police custody for two more days. The police had earlier raided his home in Awale Nagar and found proposals of 22 teachers and documents of 53 candidates.
Raju Kevalram Meshram (59), Director of Parasatola School, is also in the custody. Police say, more arrests are likely soon.
