As many as 63 new recruits received appointment letters from Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, during the 15th Rozgar Mela held at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur on Saturday.
The 15th Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, with over 51,000 candidates receiving appointment letters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the event, while Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh delivered the welcome address. In Raipur, the Rozgar Mela was hosted by the Income Tax Department. Union Minister Tokhan Sahu, the chief guest, handed over appointment letters to 62 new recruits appointed in various departments of the Central Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Tokhan Sahu said the Rozgar Mela was an innovative initiative launched by Prime Minister Modi.
He noted that while over 71,000 appointment letters were distributed during the last Rozgar Mela, this time more than 51,000 youths received employment opportunities.
Congratulating the new recruits, Sahu remarked that their hard work and perseverance had helped them realize the dreams of their families. “When an individual secures employment, it empowers the entire family, which in turn strengthens society, the state, and ultimately the nation,” he said.
The Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to making India a five trillion-dollar economy by 2027, calling on the youth to actively contribute towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Earlier, Chief Commissioner of
Income Tax, Raipur, Aparna Karan, delivered the welcome address. She said it was a matter of pride for the Income Tax Department to organise such a significant event.
Highlighting the success of Rozgar Mela, Karan said more than 10 lakh youths have secured employment through the initiative so far. She noted that prior to 2014, numerous vacancies remained unfilled across various Central departments. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, recruitment efforts have been pursued in mission mode to address this gap. She underlined the critical role of job fairs in empowering youth and steering the nation towards self-reliance. Providing employment opportunities through various government welfare schemes is key to ensuring the country’s continued development, she added. Aparna Karan congratulated the new recruits, expressing confidence that they would contribute significantly to the nation’s growth. Event began with two-minute silence to pay tribute to the victims of Pahalgam terror attack.
