DR ATUL Dhok’s 5-wicket haul helped Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur enter quarter-finals of the Maharashtra State Inter-University Staff Kulguru Cup T20 Cricket Tournament underway in the city, on Saturday.
From another group Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) also entered the quarters.
MAFSU Nagpur defeated Gondwana University Gadchiroli by 64 runs.
Batting first, MAFSU made 142-7 with Dr Rajesh Limsay (40) and Dr Satish Yadav (29) being the major contributors.
Gondwana University were bowled out for a poor score of 78 in 14 overs as Man of the Match Dr Dhok took five wickets conceding just 12 runs.
RTM Nagpur University pipped PAH University, Solapur by three wickets.
PAH University were restricted to 113 for 8 wickets. Dhaneshwar Bhoi was the top-scorer with 31 runs. RTMNU managed to score 115 for 7 with Suraj Suryavanshi contributing 21 runs.
Mahendra, who took 3 wickets for 22 runs, was named Man of the Match.
In the last match of the day, Pune University recorded a comprehensive 92 runs versus SRTM university, Nanded.
Savitribai Fule University, Pune and Mahatma Fule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri from GROUP A; Shivaji University, Kolhapur and Vasantrao Naik Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani from Group B; YCMOU, Nashik and MAFSU, Nagpur from Group C and Mumbai University and Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University from Group D entered the quarter-finals.
