Thieves stole an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) along with cash worth Rs 7.56 lakh from Mankapur square. The incident occurred early on Friday morning at the Punjab National Bank’s ATM located under Mankapur Police Station’s jurisdiction. According to police, three men arrived at the ATM around 4.30 am. One of them sprayed black paint on the CCTV camera to block its view. The other two cut the wires and managed to remove the ATM. They then loaded the machine into their vehicle and drove away with it.

The stolen ATM contained Rs 7.56 lakh in cash. The theft was discovered later when the ATM manager, Chhagan Pilaji Karwade (52), a resident of Vishram Nagar, reported the incident to the Mankapur Police. A police team reached the scene and examined the CCTV footage. The video showed the three men carrying out the theft.
A case of theft has been registered and the police are now searching for the suspects. A police official stated that they are searching CCTV cameras installed on the roads connecting to the Mankapur square to confirm where the culprits fled with the ATM kiosk. The cops are suspecting the role of inter-state gang in the heist.
