WASHIM,
In a world where employees across various sectors eagerly await their weekly breaks and public holidays, one man stands apart. For the past seven years, Vinod Zanak, a dedicated teacher at Bharat Ratna Atal Behari Vajpayee Zilla Parishad International School in Sakhra, Washim district, has not taken a single day off.
His unwavering commitment to his students has earned him the affectionate title of Master 365 from parents and the admiration of fellow
educators.
Zanak’s devotion to teaching goes beyond regular classroom duties. While fulfilling his academic responsibilities, he has also been providing free training for competitive exams to students.
About 84 students from his school qualified for the Jawahar Navodaya entrance exam in the last four years, and a remarkable 22 students cleared it this year. His students have also excelled in various scholarship exams, the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS), and Olympiads.
Understanding the financial problems of rural parents, Zanak has taken it upon himself to conduct extra coaching sessions, ensuring that even students from humble backgrounds have an equal opportunity to succeed. His initiative includes a dedicated batch of 50 students who undergo year-round training in a classroom within the school premises.
The Bharat Ratna Atal Behari Vajpayee Zilla Parishad International School has already gained recognition for its commitment to academic excellence. In the 2023-24 academic year, it was ranked first in Maharashtra under the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala’campaign.
Teachers from various districts in Maharashtra visit the school to observe and learn from its management practices and his unique teaching methods. Zanak affirms that his work will remain steadfast until his retirement in 2044.
