In a disturbing incident, a 6-year-old girl - who was out for ‘Kanyabhoj’ - was allegedly raped by her own uncle at Durg. Due to the sexual assault, the victim died of cardiac arrest in shock. To conceal his gruesome act, the accused hid her body in a car parked near his house. The minor’s body was recovered on late Sunday evening and it had sparked outrage with family members and locals staging a protest in Mohan Nagar Police Station. The minor, who resides under the limits of Mohan Nagar Police Station, left home on Sunday morning telling the family members that she was going to attend Kanyabhoj on the occasion of Ram Navmi. Meanwhile, after she failed to return home, the family lodged a missing complaint with police while on late Sunday evening, her body was recovered from a car parked near the house of the accused.

 

The incident had sparked outrage and locals in large number staged protest in Mohan Nagar Police Station in connection to which an FIR was also registered by the police. The owner of the car and his family had too also face the ire of the angry mob and they had to shift somewhere else. Superintendent of Police, Sukhnandan Rathore said that the victim had gone to meet her relative in his uncle’s home who lives nearby and as she was not in the house, the accused took the victim girl to the room upstairs. He then sexually assaulted the girl and later hid her body in the car.

 

The ASP disclosed that the post-mortem report stated that the girl died of cardiac arrest. He said that the accused has been arrested and charged under sections 103 (1), 64 (2F), 65 (2), 66 and 238 A of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. The accused is a drug addict and he recently had quarrel with his brother following which he had shifted to some other house.
