Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the grand first screening of a short film ‘Kajri: The Battle for Freedom’ held in Bagiya on Monday. The film, written and directed by SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, addresses the critical issue of human trafficking and aims to raise public awareness and vigilance. The event was attended by a large gathering of officers, public representatives, and villagers, including the Chief Minister’s wife, Kaushalya Sai. After viewing the film, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised SSP Shashi Mohan Singh and his team for creating an impactful and educational piece. He highlighted the film’s ability to shed light on the methods used by human traffickers and stressed its importance in increasing public awareness and promoting practical vigilance.
 
He also advised the audience to warn their families and neighbors against befriending unknown individuals on social media. Kaushalya Sai echoed the Chief Minister’s sentiments, suggesting that the film be widely disseminated through social media and screenings in rural areas. SSP Shashi Mohan Singh explained that ‘Kajri’ depicts how human traffickers deceive and entrap innocent girls through social media, ultimately endangering their lives, and how law enforcement intervenes to rescue them.
 
The film has been released on YouTube. SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, known for his artistic endeavors, has previously acted in Bhojpuri and Chhattisgarhi films. His films ‘Yatna’, ‘Gomti’, and ‘Kotpa’ have received national acclaim. In ‘Kajri’, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh portrays the role of SP, while Chhollywood actress Nandani Sinha plays the DSP. Veteran actors Sharad Srivastava, Divya Nagdev, and Utkarsh Srivastava also feature in significant roles. The screenplay was written by Toran Rajput. SDOP Jashpur Chandrashekhar Parma and Inspector Ravishankar Tiwari from the Police Department also contributed to the film. Local artist and YouTuber Akanksha Toppo plays the titular role of Kajri, while Kasher Hussain, Praveen Agarwal, and Bittu portray her father. SSP Shashi Mohan Singh expressed the team’s excitement following the positive reception from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who encouraged them to create more awareness-driven films. The team has committed to producing additional films to further educate the public.
