Two bar owners in the Pachpaoli area held a customer hostage and beat him up over a financial dispute. The victim, identified as Sanghrat Milind Bhoyar (31), filed a complaint with the police. According to police, he had a money-related argument with the accused, Gagandeep Singh Harvindersingh Talwar and Preetpal Singh Surjeetsingh Samlok, who run the Kamal Bar and Restaurant near Indora Chowk.
Sanghrat, a vegetable vendor, used to visit the bar and he became acquainted with Gagandeep. About 3-4 months ago, the two had a dispute over money, but Sanghrat did not report it to the police at the time.
On Sunday night, Sanghrat went to the bar again with his friend Rishabh Samudre. Gagandeep threw him out upon seeing him. Gagandeep again called Sanghrat back and took him to a room inside the bar where he and Preetpal beat him severely. Preetpal even entered the room holding a pistol and threatened to kill Sanghrat and continued to assault him.
Sanghrat managed to escape and reached home. He told Rishabh about the incident and then filed a police complaint. Pachpaoli Police registered a case under various sections, including the Arms Act, and arrested the two accused.
