Gangster Ambekar arrested for duping 3 businessmen of Rs 5 crore in land deal

A team of crime branch, on Saturday night, arrested notorious goon Santosh Ambekar for allegedly duping three businessmen of Rs five crore and issuing death threats to them for extortion of Rs one crore. The complaint was lodged by Jigar Pareshbhai Patel, a resident of Kapadvanj, District - Kheda, Gujarat at Sitabuldi police station.
 
According to police, accused Ambekar, Bhaiyyaji, Ramesh Patil, Balaji Angadia, Salim and others had hatched a conspiracy to dupe Patel, Anil Kadam and Vinod Pawar in a land deal. They had forged documents of a commercial property located in Mumbai and shown the property to Patel. Patel, Pawar and Kadam had fixed the land deal with Ambekar and gave Rs five crore to him on July 5, 2018. Soon after realising the fraud, the victims asked Ambekar to return the money. Ambekar call the victims at Nagpur three to four times on pretext of registering land plots in their names. Instead of returning the money, Ambekar started issuing threats to the victims.
 
“Ambekar and his accomplices were issuing death threats to the victims and their family members directly and on their cell phones,” informed a police officer. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Patel, Sitabuldi police have registered an offence under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 384, 386, 506 (b) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Crime Branch called Ambekar at his office in Gittikhadan for a discussion in the evening hours and arrested him. Ambekar would be produced in the court on Sunday.
