In 2009, Nagpur witnessed one new constituency South West and Fadnavis shifted to that constituency. He won from that constituency twice.In2014 nobody thought Fadnavis would became Chief Minister as he did not have any experience of handling any portfolioearlier. Buthebecame and proved that his choice was not wrong. After Vasant rao Naik, he is the only Chief Minister who could complete the term of full five years. Fadnavis is known for his studious approach and voracious reading. He was lesser known when took charge of Chief Minister in 2014. But with the success in Corporation elections in State followed by Lok Sabha polls, Fadnavis earned good name in politics. Even after becoming Chief Minister he did not lose touch of the constituency.
Denied ticket, Kohale cries ‘injustice’
Sudhakar Kohale, sitting MLA from Nagpur South constituency, was in for a shock on Tuesday when his name did not figure in the list of candidates announced by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for State Legislative Assembly polls. In his place, BJP has fielded Mohan Mate, former MLA. Soon after the news broke out, Kohale’s supporters started gathering at his residence. Being the only sitting MLA from the city to whom ticket has been denied by BJP, he was peeved.
Talking to mediapersons, he said, “I definitely feel that injustice has been meted out to me.” He also said that he would speak to the senior leaders in the party. “After speaking to them, I will talk to my supporters and take appropriate decision,” he said. However, he refused to elaborate on what he meant by ‘appropriate’ decision.
